Â
UBC Matchup Preview:
- The Vikes return to Centennial Stadium on Sunday for a rematch with UBC after dropping a narrow 1-0 decision to the Thunderbirds in Vancouver on Friday. Victoria enters the weekend with momentum following its first win of the season, a 1-0 victory over UBCO, which improved the team's record to 1-2-5.
- Despite recent success, the Vikes face a difficult challenge against a UBC side that remains undefeated at 9-0 and has won seven consecutive meetings between the two programs. Based on the all-time series, Victoria trails 10-23-5 and is 1-9 over the last 10 matchups.
- The Vikes will look to build on a strong defensive effort from last weekend, when they held the Thunderbirds to a single goal and recorded a clean sheet against UBCO.
- While recent history favours UBC, Victoria has produced big results in this rivalry before, including a 2-0 victory over the Thunderbirds in 2023, and will be looking for another statement win on home turf.
