2025 Vikes women’s rowing: Champions of the water. Anchored in community. Fueled by you.
🚣 Thank you for keeping us moving forward
This past season, your support shaped more than just results—it built culture. Because of your generosity, our student-athletes were able to train at a high level, support their community, and represent the Vikes on the national and international stage. With every stroke, lift, and late-night study session, your belief in our athletes fuels their ability to thrive. We’re deeply grateful to have you in our boat.
🏆 Vikes women’s rowing win third-straight national title
The 2024–25 season was defined by both connection and competition—and we delivered on both.
- Hosted the Canadian University Rowing Championships at Elk Lake
- Won our third consecutive national banner—cementing our place at the top
- Built a team culture rooted in trust, positivity, and community engagement
This wasn’t just a victory on the water. It was a celebration of how strong culture—and your support—creates sustained excellence.
🌍 Beyond the boathouse: Building community
Thanks to scholarships provided by the Vikes Championship Breakfast, our athletes could:
- Train and recover effectively through intensive regimens
- Volunteer at local lake events, supporting other community user groups
- Represent UVic and the Vikes with pride—both in and out of competition
This season wasn’t just about winning—it was about giving back while moving forward.
✈️ Going places: Powered by Giving Day
Thanks to Vikes Giving Day, our team expanded its travel opportunities:
- Sent a Novice 8+ to the San Diego Crew Classic, placing 4th in their first international regatta
- Planning additional travel for the 2025–26 season, opening up even more competition and learning experiences for our team
These trips offer irreplaceable growth—technically, emotionally, and culturally.
🗣 From the athletes
"Racing at my first international regatta in my first year was a ‘pinch me’ moment. I’m so thankful to the donors who made that opportunity possible. I fell in love with rowing even more."
- Madeline Sellars, first-year
"Over four years, I’ve seen this team grow so much—through better training, better gear, and scholarships that support us in all aspects of life. Thank you for believing in us."
- Kaliya Javra, fourth year
Your generosity propels us forward and empowers our student-athletes to achieve their full potential. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey towards excellence.
