WINNIPEG - #Kayla Dykstra# recorded her third straight double-double on Saturday night to lead the no. 7 UVic Vikes women's basketball team to a 60-50 win over the Winnipeg Wesmen.

Dykstra's game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds combined with Winnipeg native #Debbie Yeboah#'s 17 points to edge the home side in the second half.
The game was level at 31 points apiece heading into the break before some staunch defending held the Wesmen to just six points in the third quarter.
The Wesmen rebounded with a 13-point effort in the fourth quarter but failed to slow the Vikes offence as the visitors scored 16 points in the final frame.
The Vikes shot 35.1% from the field with Dykstra shooting 9-12. Winnipeg's Alex MacIver and Amy Ogidan each posted 12 points as the Wesmen shot 30.8% from the field.
The win moves the no. 7 Vikes to 4-3 in Canada West play heading into the Christmas break. The Vikes will regroup for the Hopewell Hoops Tournament in Calgary from Dec. 28-30 before their Canada West season resumes with a Jan. 8th home series against the Brandon Bobcats and Regina Cougars.
