CAMBRIDGE, MA – The UVic Vikes women's field hockey team edged the Holy Cross Crusaders 1-0 on Tuesday evening to complete a preseason series sweep of NCAA competition.

Perri Espeseth# netted the game winner against the Crusaders, her fourth in four games to finish the tour as the squad's leading scorer.
Netminder #
Kaitlyn Williams# recorded her fourth straight shutout as the Vikes held Brown, Harvard, Dartmouth and Holy Cross scoreless through 280 minutes of competition.
The last time UVic's women's field hockey team went undefeated in the preseason, they downed Stanford, Cal and Pacific in 2008 before returning home to capture the CIS National Championship.
The Vikes open their Canada West campaign against Alberta on September 18th at 11:00am on UVic's Field Hockey Turf.
