VANCOUVER – The University of Victoria men's rugby team hosts James Bay in Week 3 of the Canadian Direct Insurance Premier League play at Wallace Field on Feb. 19 at 2:45 p.m.
The game also marks the second leg of the Vikes-Bays Challenge Cup. The series was established through the efforts of Ian Stewart, former Chair of the UVic Board of Governors and a former Bays player. The challenge trophy is intended to enhance the development of excellence in citizen-athletes through competition between the UVic Vikes and James Bay AA.

The Vikes and Bays are both undefeated. The Bays hold a seven-point advantage in the two-game Vikes-Bays Challenge Cup, a total points competition, carried over from their 44-37 Barnard Cup victory in December. Saturday's match will pit the league's leading try scorers against one another in Uvic's
Brett Beukeboom (5 tries) and James Bay's Dave Moonlight (4 tries).
Less than a stone's throw from Wallace Field, the UBCOB Ravens (1-1) will scrum down against the Velox Valhallians (0-2) at Velox Rugby Club. The Ravens currently lead Pool A in offence, averaging 42 points per game. On the Lower Mainland, the Vancouver Rowing Club (0-2) will look for their first win, when they travel to Premier League newcomers Abbotsford RFC (1-1).

ABOUT THE BC PREMIER LEAGUE
In the 2011 BC Premier League, 12 teams are divided into two pools during the qualification rounds from January 29 through March 5. Eight teams will thenqualify for the Premier League, which runs from March 19 to April 16.
