The University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball team fell 70-67 to the Regina Cougars and drop the best-of-three Canada West quarter-final series 2-0.

Jane Anholt# scored 14 points and added five steals in her final game with the Vikes, while #
Carmen Lapthorne# added 12 and #
Sarah Semeniuk# 10, along with 15 rebounds and five blocks. #
Vanessa Forstbauer# added 13 rebounds in the loss.
Joanna Zalesiak paced the Cougars with 24 points along with seven rebounds.
BOX SCORE
Although the Vikes led by three points at the half, 36-33, Regina cut the lead to one point by the end of the third quarter, with the Vikes holding on to a 48-47 advantage.
Lapthorne nailed a three-pointer to put the Vikes up two points, 55-53, midway through the fourth, seemingly giving UVic momentum. They continued to lead entering the final two minutes, but a three-pointer from Lindsay Ledingham gave the Cougars a lead they would hold on to. Ledingham finished the game with 15 points and seven rebounds.
Lapthrorne was able to get to the line to tie the game at 67. Regina took a 69-67 lead and then the Vikes were called for travelling with 13.3 seconds left, ending their hopes for a comeback.
