Vikes find scoring touch in win over Grant MacEwan

Oct. 20: Victoria 83 - Grant McEwan 52

VICTORIA - The University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball team rebounded from a one-point loss in yesterday's game to defeat Grant MacEwan 83-52 in their second game of their road pre-season tour at the Wolfpack Invitational hosted by Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, B.C. The tournament runs from Oct. 19-21 and features the Vikes, Huskies, Grant MacEwan University and hosts, the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack.

The Vikes were led in scoring by third year 
Jessica Renfrew (Victoria, BC) and first-year Vike Nicole Karstein (Kamloops, BC)  who totalled 12 and 10 poitns, respectively. Fellow first-year Ashley McGinnis (Oliver, BC) drained three from the top of the arc to add nine points.

Grant MacEwan's Megan Wood scored 20 points, while Montana Remoeril added 11 in the game. Romeril was three-for-seven on threes made, while Wood was eight for 12 from the line. 

The Vikes out-scored Grant MacEwan comfortably in the opening two quarters, entering the break with a 46-22 lead. 

The UVic side led by as much as 25 in the third quarter and 36 in the fourth quarter to win the game 83-52.
