VICTORIA - The University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball team have secured two more victories on their pre-season tour of Ontario, Oct. 26-27. The Vikes are currently 3-0 on their tour after picking up recent wins against both Guelph and Toronto.

The Vikes women first defeated Guelph on Oct. 26 by a score of 85-70. The Vikes women showed strength particularly in the third quarter as they out-shot the gryphons 27-18 with contributions coming from all players. Senior
Debbie Yeboah (Winnipeg, MB) paved the way with 19 points, while rookie
Tessla Rennie (Red Lodge, MT) put up 15 points and six rebounds. Also adding in the double digits was fifth-year
Chelsea McMullen (Prince George, B.C.) and
Jenny Lewis (Fall River, NS), who had 14 and 10 points, respectively.
The UVic side continued their undefeated streak after they defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 73-67. Yeboah again led with 21 points, while McMullen aded 17 points.
The Vikes advance 3-0 through their tour and will competed against Western Ontario on Oct. 28 before returning home for their Canada West home openers on Nov. 2-3 against UBC Okanagan at McKinnon Gym.
