VICTORIA, B.C. - The University of Victoria Vikes men's rugby team took on the Castaway Wanderers again after just playing the Oak Bay side last week. Coming out on top with a score of 23-17, the Vikes are now one step closer to winning the coveted Barnard Cup.

ROSTER
With the absence of Vikes standouts such as
Phil Mack (Victoria, BC),
Sean Duke (Vancouver, BC), and
Nathan Hirayama (Richmond, BC) due to national team duties, the Vikes were given a good opportunity to rework their lineup in order to pull off the win. The UVic men relied on players such as rookie-to-watch
Chase Kelliher (Paget, BM), second-year
Luke McCloskey (Victoria, B.C.), and third-year
Dustin Dobravsky (Hanover, Germany) as they each scored a try.
Kicking for the UVic men and slotting in at flyhalf for Hirayama,
Patrick Kay (Duncan, B.C.) made good on one conversion attempt in addition to two penalties, for a combined points total of eight.
Next up for the Vikes is a match-up against crosstown rivals James Bay, 2:45 p.m., Nov. 24, at Wallace Field.
