The Vikes are coming off a win-less weekend that saw a 2-2 draw with the No. 7 Saskatchewan Huskies and 2-0 loss to the unranked Alberta Golden Bears. Regardless, the Vikes are still in good position as they boast the talents of several seniors who bring experience from the 2011 CIS championship-winning team.

Leading the Vikes contingency is fourth-year striker Cameron Stokes who has seven goals and two assists after starting all 10 games so far. Former Canada West Rookie of the Year Cam Hundal has added five goals and two assists, while midfielder Craig Gorman has been a key part of the Vikes offence, chipping in with three goals and four assists.

Outside of the scoring trio of Stokes, Hundal and Gorman, Vikes defenders Andrew Ravenhill, Toshi Hayashi and Gavin Barrett have been a key piece to the puzzle. Despite being without scoring statistics, the defensive unit has been integral contributors to the Vikes' success. In addition, veteran keeper Elliot Mitrou has played every minute of the season and boasts three shutouts and a 0.694 save percentage.

Up first the Vikes will host Lethbridge, currently 2-8-1, on Oct 18. The Horns are led in scoring by Guilherme Costa who has tallied two goals and two assists to date, while Conner Brady has also chipped in with two goals. In goal, Tyler Boars
Has started all 10 games and has a 0.734 save percentage. Both of Lethbridge's season wins have come on home turf.

On Oct. 19, the Vikes will play the Calgary Dinos who are 6-4-1 thanks to five goals in the season from Izak Lawrence. Jaron Broom has also added three goals to date while Joran Unreiner has manned the net with a 0.776 save percentage.

The Vikes have already qualified for the post-season with hosting duties of the conference Final 6 tilting heavily towards UBC who are in first with 33 points. The long qualifier from the Prairie Division so far is Saskatchewan, currently 8-3-1 with 25 points. Three more spots are up for grabs as the final two weekends of regular season play draw nearer. The CIS championship will take place Nov. 7-10 in Fredericton, N.B.

The Vikes will kick off on this weekend on Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Games will be available on http://canadawest.tv
