With several players that include
Nathan Yanagiya, Giuseppe du Toit,
Patrick Kay and
Nathan Hirayama unavailable due to international commitments and injuries, the Vikes have relied on depth within their system to fill roster holes throughout the 2013 season.
"We have pretty much the same team as last week," said head coach Doug Tate. "I think we have to keep the number of points scored on us down this week. We also have to start the game a little bit better."
Both teams have identical records of two wins and one loss, with the Vikes holding a strong edge in points scored, totaling 115. Defensively, the Vikes have allowed 81 points against this season, with 45 of them coming in their previous match against James Bay AA. In their first return season to the BCRU, the Rowers have posted 52 points through three games this season, while allowing 74 points against.
The Vikes will be looking to leapfrog first-place Burnaby Lake Rugby Club when they kick-off against the Rowers Nov. 2, at 2:45 p.m. in Vancouver.
