Oct. 28: UVic Vikes 72, UC Dinos 0 (Kelowna, B.C.)

VICTORIA – A complete team effort saw the UVic Vikes men's rugby team lead from start to finish in a 72-0 victory over the Calgary Dinos in Kelowna, B.C. on Oct. 28.

"Our forwards played their best game of the season with James O'Neill leading the way helped out by Carson O'Sullivan and Jesse Burns," said Vikes head coach Doug Tate.

The game was a Semifinal affair for the for the right to represent Western Canada in the upcoming Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship that is being held from Nov. 16-19 in Guelph, ON.

The outcome of the match was never really in doubt as the Vikes dominated possession throughout the entire contest and used a methodical attack to record 48 points in the first half.

Second-year Centre Mostyn Findlay led the way with four tries but the scoring came from throughout the lineup as all 23 Vikes got into the contest.

The Vikes will now take on the host UBC Okanagan Heat for a spot in the National Championship. That game will take place on Sunday, Oct. 29 at noon.
