Tale of the Weekend
VICTORIA – The UVic Vikes women's basketball team will have momentum on their side this weekend as they travel to Brandon, MB for a pair of games against the Bobcats on Nov. 3 and 4.
Playing at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, the Vikes will be looking to carry forward their hot start to the 2017-18 season.
The last time these two teams met was for the final regular season games of the 2015-16 season. The Vikes picked up the sweep of the Bobcats in Victoria, winning two close games by scores of 76-66 and 70-65.
Last Time Out
The Vikes started their season in style with back-to-back wins over the UBC Okanagan Heat last weekend.
Kristy Gallagher scored 20 points and the Vikes played solid defence in a 64-54 win on Friday night before
Amira Giannattasio went off for 36 points in the team's 78-64 victory on Saturday.
The Bobcats come into the weekend still searching for their first win of the season after they dropped a pair of games to the Lethbridge Pronghorns last weekend. Brandon dropped their season-opener 84-58 before rebounding to put forth a better effort in an 87-82 loss on Saturday night.

17.5: Keisha Cox paced the Bobcats in scoring through their opening weekend with 15 and 20 points.
