VICTORIA – Opening for the Team Canada-Chile Rugby World Cup qualifier at Starlight Stadium, the University of Victoria men's rugby team takes on the Pacific Pride Saturday, Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m. in Langford, B.C.

- The Vikes put up 22 points in their first match of the season against the Vancouver Island Tide, Sept. 25.
- UVic looks to claim its first win of the season, after falling in heartbreaking fashion on the final play of the game, 26-22, to the Tide.
- Nicholas Carson, Andrew Easson, and Shane Rikley-Krindle all scored tries for the Vikes, while Christopher Gamage went 2-for-3 on conversions and added a drop goal.
- The Vikes and Pride will be the curtain-raiser to the Canada-Chile Rugby World Cup qualifier game at 5 p.m.
JERSEY AUCTION
- For the match, UVic and the Pride will be sporting jerseys designed by west coast First Nations artists Trey Hunt and Tommy Hunt.
- After the match, the jerseys will be auctioned to the community, with all proceeds benefiting Thunder Rugby, supporting Indigenous rugby programs and communities on Vancouver Island.
