NEWS & NOTES

• The matchup with the WolfPack will mark the Vikes women's basketball team's first game since Dec. 4, 2021.
• UVic enters the weekend with an overall record of 4-4, coming off two wins over UNBC, 84-59 and 83-68, Dec. 3-4 at CARSA Performance Gym.
• TRU is searching for its first win of 2022, as the WolfPack sit at 1-12 and are on six-game losing streak.
• The weekend matchups will mark the first between UVic and TRU in the 2021-22 season. 
• UVic ranks fourth in Canada West with a 72.5 points per game scoring average, while Ashlyn Day's 19.8 points per game average ranks fifth out of all individual players in the conference.  
• Diane Schuetze, the lead assistant coach for the Vikes women's basketball program, has been named the head coach of the U17 Basketball BC team.
