Field hockey looks to defend conference title at UBC

VICTORIA – The University of Victoria women's field hockey team looks to defend their 2021 Canada West title as the Vikes take on the University of British Columbia in the final weekend series of the season, Oct. 22-23 in Vancouver, B.C.

SERIES HISTORY
  • The Vikes are 5-0-5 against the Thunderbirds since the start of the 2019 season.
  • Meeting earlier this season, Sept. 24-25 in Duncan, B.C., the Vikes tied, 1-1 (2-3 SO) in game one and won, 4-1, in game two.
  • Last matching up in Vancouver, B.C., Oct. 23-24, 2021, the Vikes claimed a 1-1 (4-1 SO) win and 1-0 victory over the Thunderbirds, clinching the 2021 Canada West title.
NEWS & NOTES
  • The defending conference champions hold a 5-0-1 record heading into the final weekend of play, sitting in first place in the Canada West standings with 16 points.
