Golf finishes third at UBC West Coast Collegiate

Vancouver, B.C. - The University of Victoria men's and women's golf teams finished third at the West Coast Collegiate hosted by the University of British Columbia, Oct. 23-24, at University Golf Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Shooting his lowest rounds of the season, Robin Conlan fired his season-low 68 (-4) in round one and followed by tying his previous season-low of 69 (-3) in round two to finish the tournament in a tie for second place individually at -7 overall.
  • Sukriti Harjai dropped four strokes from her first round score of 77 (+4) to shoot an even 73 on day two and finish in a tie for eighth individually at +4 overall.
  • After a 76 (+4) day one, Zach Ryujin posted the biggest turnaround on the men's side on day two, dropping nine strokes for a 67 (-5) round two, ending the tournament in a tie for 10th place at -1 overall.
  • Aiden Craig-Steele's rounds of 71 (-1) and 72 (E) tied him with Ryujin for 10th place individually with an overall score of -1.
  • Finishing in a tie for 12th place, Lana Rummel shot rounds of 78 (+5) and 75 (+2) to finish at +7 overall.
  • Making his 2022 debut for the Vikes, Max Murchison finished tied for 13th individually at +1 with scores of 70 (-2) and 75 (+3).
  • Mirai Hayashi and Taylor Adam tied for 15th place at +9 overall. Hayashi shot 76 (+3) and 79 (+6), while Adam scored 78 (+5) and 77 (+4).
  • Appearing in his first tournament as a Vike, Dylan Norrey carded rounds of 70 (-2) and 76 (+4) to finish in a tie for 17th at +2 overall.
  • Kat Hodgson scored +10 overall with rounds of 75 (+2) and 81 (+8) to finish tied for 17th individually. 
  • As teams, the women finished second at +24 overall. The men finished third at -14, two shots off first-place UFV at -16.
UP NEXT
The Vikes begin NAIA play in the spring of 2023.
