VICTORIA – Closing out the 2022 spring regular season at Wallace Field, the University of Victoria men's rugby team defeated James Bay Athletic Association, 18-16, April 9.

6th Minute - UVic 3, JBAA 0
- Putting the first points on the board for the Vikes, Ethan Hager scored a penalty goal from the middle for the UVic lead.
14th Minute – JBAA 5, UVic 3
- James Bay registered the first try of the contest, taking a two-point lead after the convert was not successful.
37th Minute - UVic 8, JBAA 5
- After being stopped right in front of the goal line, Owen Kokan found Liam Clark on the next play to put the Vikes back in front via try.
40th Minute - UVic 8, JBAA 8
- A penalty goal for the visiting side tied the game at the half.
46th Minute - UVic 11, JBAA 8
- Putting the ball through the uprights for his second penalty goal of the match, Hager opened the second-half scoring and gave the Vikes the lead back.
59th Minute - UVic 11, JBAA 11
- James Bay's second penalty goal of the afternoon tied the game at 11.
74th Minute - JBAA 16, UVic 11
- JBAA took a five-point lead heading in to the final minutes of play with a try.
80th Minute – UVic 18, JBAA 16
- Coming out of a scrum in the final minute of play, the Vikes found Gabriel Casey, who touched it down for a try to tie the game at 16.
- Hager was successful on the convert as time expired to give the Vikes the win.
WORTH NOTING
- The Vikes finish the 2022 spring regular season with a 4-4 record, and end on a three-match win streak.
- Hager led the Vikes with eight points on the day, while Clark and Casey each added five in the win.
