• The Vikes have a 2-0 record against the Spartans since the 2019 season.
• The last meeting between the two sides resulted in a 36-25 Vikes win Oct. 23, 2021 on Wallace Field.

• UVic posted a 7-11 record in 2021, earning a silver medal at the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championships.
• The Vikes return a core group of players from the 2021-22 roster, including CUMRC All-Tournament Team selections Jonas Robinson and Ethan Hager.
• The match will serve as the first university qualifying match on the Vikes' fall slate, as the results from matches against TWU and UBC are used to determine entry to the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championships in late November.
