VICTORIA - The University of Victoria men's rowing team captured 2x and JV 8+ race wins at the Head and Tail of the Gorge, Oct. 14-15 on the Gorge waterway.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The duo of Simon Whittaker and Cole Carter captured the 2x title during Saturday afternoon's head racing with a time of 13:16.6.
• Sam Ree, Whittaker, Dominik Crnjak, Samuel Ross, Carter, and Anthony Carella were joined by newcomers Jahada Bezeau, William Theed and Max Schiller in the JV 8+ races, taking the Saturday morning head race with a time of 11:38.47 and Sunday afternoon tail race with an 11:11.23 finish.

The Vikes gear up for the Canadian University Rowing Championships, Nov. 10-12 in Burnaby, B.C. Select Vikes crews will race at the Head of the Lake, Nov. 4-5 in Seattle, Wash.
