VICTORIA - The University of Victoria men's and women's basketball teams close the Canada West regular season against the University of British Columbia, facing the Thunderbirds in Vancouver, B.C. Thursday, Feb. 9 and in Victoria Saturday, Feb. 11.

- Ranked No. 2 in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 poll, the Vikes men's team holds an overall record of 15-3 after a split weekend at UBCO, Feb. 3-4.
- The Vikes women's team also split its series at UBCO, sitting at 8-10 heading in to the final regular season series.
- UBC enters the series with a 13-5 record on the men's side and 10-8 mark on the women's side. The men's team is coming off two wins over UFV while the women's team dropped their last two games to the Cascades, Feb. 3-4.
- Diego Maffia's 23.6 points per game average ranks first in U SPORTS, while Dominick Oliveri's 12.4 rebounds per game tally ranks third in the country. In addition, the 94.7 points per game team scoring average for Victoria is the best in the nation.
- Ashlyn Day leads the Vikes with an 18.3 points per game scoring average, which also ranks fifth in Canada West. Brooklyn White's 8.7 rebounds per game average leads UVic.
- Results from these games will determine final standings for Canada West postseason play. The men currently sit second in the league while the women hold 11th place, with the top 12 teams making the playoffs.
