LAST MEETING
- Meeting one year ago at the 2023 national championship in Langley, B.C., the Vikes won the quarterfinal round matchup, 40-19, Nov. 15.
NEWS & NOTES
- The Vikes head to the University of Ottawa for the 2024 national championship, in search of their first national title since 2019. The Vikes have finished second at two of the last three CUMRCs (2023, 2021).
- Victoria enters as the third seed in the tournament with a 1-7 overall record and 1-3 mark against university competition. Queen's enters the tournament as the OUA runner up and sixth seed, holding a 7-2 mark on the year. This will be the second-straight season the Vikes and Gaels have matched up in the quarterfinals.
- In university competition this season, the Vikes split the series against Trinity Western, winning game one 40-36 and falling in game two, 34-27, and fell to UBC in both matchups, 44-33 and 26-21. Victoria finished ahead of Trinity Western via bonus points to claim the second B.C. berth to the national tournament.Â
- The Vikes finished in national runner-up position in 2023. After defeating Queen's in the quarterfinal 40-19, the Vikes defeated Memorial University, 47-19, and fell to UBC in the gold medal game, 41-7.
