Ottawa, Ont. – A back-and-forth contest between the University of Victoria men's rugby team and Queen's University resulted in a narrow 26-24 victory for the Gaels in the quarterfinal round of the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship, Nov. 13 at Matt Anthony Field at the University of Ottawa.

Back-and-forth first half results in Queen's lead
- A sixth-minute try by Queen's opened the game scoring, but a 12th minute try from Nicolas Willey in response tied the game, 5-5.
- The Gaels took a 12-5 lead in the 19th minute, but a Di Nardo breakaway try on the next Vikes possession followed by an Alex Gamage convert tied the game, 12-12 in the 21st minute.
- Phoenix Moller gave the Vikes the 17-12 lead with a try in the 28th minute, but Queen's would score a try and convert in the final seconds to take a 19-17 halftime lead.
Each sides scores seven in the second half, Queen's holds on to lead
- It was nearly the halfway point of the second half before points were scored by either side. In the 44th minute, the Gaels took a 26-17 lead on a try and convert.
- Di Nardo struck again for the Vikes, being on the receiving end of an offload and running the ball in for the try in the 56th minute. Lockhart MacGregor was successful on the conversion to make it a two-point game, 26-24, with Queen's still on top.
- Unable to put any more points on the board in the final minutes, the Vikes fell to the Gaels, 26-24.
