Burnaby, B.C. - The University of Victoria golf teams opened their 2024-25 campaigns at the True North Classic hosted by Simon Fraser Unviersity, Sept. 23-24 at Riverway Golf Course.

Lines posts top-10 result
- Maguire Lines paced the men's side, finishing in a tie for seventh place with an overall +4. Lines also posted the Vikes-best round of 70 in round one and tied for the Vikes-low with a 73 in round two.
Koira leads Vikes' women's side
- Cindy Koira recorded the top finish on the Vikes' women's side, taking 17th place at +18 overall, posting the Vikes-low round in each of the three rounds of play.
Adam betters every round; Boucher and Decksheimer see largest round-over-round improvement
- Taylor Adam was the lone Vike to post an improved score in each round of play. Beginning with a 91 to open the tournament, Adam dropped to 87 in round two and finished off with an 81 in round three to tie for 52nd overall at +43.
- Felix Boucher and Solomon Decksheimer had the largest round-over-round improvement for the Vikes, both dropping nine strokes between rounds one and two. Boucher went from 89 to 80, while Decksheimer went from 88 to 79.
Two rookies make Vikes debut
- First years Jagre Knight and Antonia Ho made their debuts in the blue and gold at the True North Classic. Knight tied for 17th in the men's field with a +8 overall result, including a first-round par, while Ho finished 57th on the women's side at +47 overall, shooting her best round of the tournament in round two at 85.
