Vikes lose to Cascades on the road

Abbotsford, BC – The University of Victoria women's basketball team were defeated 65-62 by the University of Fraser Valley, Oct. 25 at UFV Athletic Centre.
 
Vikes fell behind early but stormed back for a halftime lead
  • The Vikes ended the first quarter down 20-17 but rallied in the second quarter to secure a 36-33 lead as the game headed for halftime.
 
Vikes couldn't find their range
  • The shooting woes were the story in this game as the Vikes struggled. The Vikes struggled to find their range as they shot 30.1% from the field and 22.2% from behind the arc.
  • Eden Henderson was a bright spot for the Vikes as she came off the bench to drop 13 points in a career high 29 minutes.
 
Notables
  • Mimi Sigue led in scoring for the Vikes with her 16 points in her first start of the season.
  • Abigail Becker continued her dominance on the glass as she led the Vikes with nine rebounds.
  • The Vikes move to 0-2 on the new season, while the Cascades jump to 1-1 with their first win of the season.
