Montreal, QC - The University of Victoria lost 27-12 to the University of British Columbia in the bronze medal game of the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championships on Nov. 16.

Vikes started the scoring, and UBC answered.
- Alex Gamage got the scoring started early as he used his speed to burst down the sideline and over the try line. Gamage's fourth-minute score propelled the Vikes out to an early 5-0 lead.
- UBC answered the Vikes' score with one of their own. In the 13th minute, the Thunderbirds broke the try line and brought the game to a 5-5 tie.
- UBC added another try in the 24th minute as their offence found an opening and forced their way over the try line. UBC took a 12-5 lead with little time remaining in the first half.
- In extra time of the first half, UBC scored their third unanswered try. This score gave UBC a 17-5 halftime lead.

UBC's pressure remained in the second half
- UBC continued their offensive attack to start the second half. In the seventh minute, the Thunderbirds extended their lead to 22-5.
- The Thunderbirds scored a fifth try in the 19th minute of the second half. This score brought UBC's lead to 27-5.
- Jack Marshall shook off tackles and got the Vikes back on the board as he scored his first try of the Championships in the 27th minute of the second game. Alex Gamage added the conversion to cut UBC's lead to 27-12.
