Vikes' first-half explosion leads to fifth win of the season

Prince George, BC – The University of Victoria women's basketball team defeated the University of Northern British Columbia 75-63 on Nov. 28 at Brownridge Court.
 
Vikes fill the score sheet in their highest scoring half of the season.
  • The Vikes dominate the first half, scoring 47 points, led by Abigail Becker's 14 points.
  • Iva Kalabric cleaned the glass for Victoria as she posted eight first-half rebounds.
  • The defence of the Vikes held the Timberwolves to 37 first-half points, sending the Vikes to the locker room with a ten-point lead.
 
Victoria's first-half lead was too much for the Timberwolves to overcome
  • The Vikes continued their pressure in the third quarter as they outscored the Timberwolves 15-8, extending their lead to 17 as the game headed to the fourth quarter.
  • UNBC tried to force their way back by outscoring the Vikes 18-13, but the Vikes' lead was too much to overcome.

  • With the win, the Vikes improve to 5-5 while the Timberwolves fall to 1-9.
  • Mimi Sigue led the scoring for the Vikes as she tallied a season-high 18 points.
