Prince George, BC – The University of Victoria women's basketball team won their second game in a row as they defeated the University of Northern British Columbia 67-62, Nov. 29 at Northern Sport Centre.
Vikes' stellar first half led to a large halftime lead.
- Victoria dominated the first half as Abigail Becker and Avery Geddes both scored nine points to lead the way for an 18-point halftime lead.
- The story of the first half was the rebounding discrepancy between the two squads. The Vikes outrebounded the Timberwolves 27-10 with 14 second-chance points coming off the offensive rebounds.
UNBC clawed back to make an exciting finish
- The Timberwolves began to find some scoring in the second half as they came soaring back. At the end of the third quarter, the Timberwolves had cut the Vikes' lead to nine points.
- With UNBC still on the attack, Mimi Sigue steadied the ship for the Vikes as her 11 second-half points withstood the Timberwolves' comeback attempts.
- The Vikes held on in the dying moments of the game to capture the 67-62 victory.
