Basketball hosts Thompson Rivers for final regular season home games

VICTORIA - The University of Victoria men's and women's basketball teams host Thompson Rivers University in their final home games of the Canada West season Feb. 7-8 at CARSA Performance Gym.

LAST 5 MEETINGS
  • Both the Vikes men's and women's teams are 5-0 against the WolfPack in the last five meetings between the two sides.
  • Meeting three weeks ago on a road swing for the Vikes, the Victoria men captured the 87-84 victory in a tight back and forth contest, while the women overcame an early deficit to take the 64-45 win on the road.

  • The Vikes men enter the weekend with a 16-0 record following 83-75 and 83-67 road wins at Lethbridge, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. They will face a 10-8 WolfPack team coming off a road sweep of UBC Okanagan one weekend ago.
  • On the women's side, the Vikes sit at 9-7 on the year following a pair of shorthanded losses at Lethbridge, 64-58 and 66-60. The 1-17 Thompson Rivers fell in both games at UBCO, Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
  • Abigail Becker is averaging a double-double for the Vikes, leading the team and Canada West with a 10.1 rebounds per game average, and leading the Vikes with a 13.6 points per game clip, which ranks 12th in the league.
