Victoria, BC – The University of Victoria women's basketball team lost to the University of British Columbia 79-51 on seniors' night, February 7 at CARSA Performance Gym.
Thunderbirds attacked early and built a lead.
- Right from the tipoff, the Thunderbirds were on the attack, showing why they are the top team in Canada West's Pacific Division. The UBC offence built them a 23-11 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.
- UBC followed up their stellar first quarter with a better second quarter. A scoring run extended the Thunderbirds' lead to 49-23 at halftime.
Geddes and the Vikes battled, but the Thunderbirds' lead was too much.
- Avery Geddes found success on the offensive end with her hard drives to the basket. Geddes scored a Vikes-high 16 points on her seven made shots.
- The Thunderbirds held on to their lead, winning comfortably 79-51 in the last regular season game of the year.

- Victoria will end their regular season with a 9-11 record. The Thunderbirds win the Canada West Pacific Division with a 16-4 record.
- Iva Kalabric collected 10 rebounds, leading the Vikes on the glass.
- Abigail Becker, Mimi Sigue, and Tegan Michel were honoured as the Vikes' seniors, playing their final game on home court.
The Vikes will await their seeding and return to the court for the Canada West playoffs on February 13 in a win-or-go-home game.
