Edmonton, AB – The University of Victoria's track and field team competed in the Panda Bear Open hosted by the University of Alberta on February 6 and 7. The men's team earned 42 points, earning sixth place, and the women's team captured fourth place with 32 points in the team competitions.
 
Thompson rose above the rest.

• Marisha Thompson displayed her dominance as she beat the field, winning the women's 1000m with a time of 2:48.78. Thompson continued her stellar running as she captured second place in the women's 600m.

 
Screen, Clements, Frielink, and Ohrling round out the podium performances.

• Jack Screen ran hard, earning him second place in the men's 3000m with an impressive time of 8:44.42.
• Isaac Clements continued his impressive season as he added a second-place finish with his 4.70m in the men's pole vault competition.
• Elissa Frielink and Sofie Ohrling earned second and third in the women's 1500m, filling the podium with Vikes as Frielink finished with a time of 4:38.93, just edging out Ohrling's 4:42.47.

 
The Vikes will head to Saskatoon for the Canada West Track and Field Championships, February 20 and 21.
