Calgary, AB – The University of Victoria women's field hockey team capped its weekend sweep of the University of Calgary with a 1-0 win on Sep. 13.
 
Ava Winter found the back of the net

• After a scoreless first half, the Vikes and Dinos were engaged in a defensive battle. Early in the third quarter, Ava Winter had an important penalty shot. Winter made no mistake and grabbed what would end up being the game's only goal.

 
Chace shut the door for the first time this season.

• Anais Chace, reigning Canada West Goalie of the Year, showed out in this contest. Chace shut down the Dinos in their quest for an equalizer.

 
Notables:

• The Vikes remain perfect and improve to 2-0 with the weekend sweep. The Dinos fall to 0-2 in the young season.
• Winter's goal was her second of the weekend, making it a two-game goal streak.

 
The Vikes will travel home to play a rematch of last year's Canada West finals against the UBC Thunderbirds on September 26 and 27.
