Third-year Vike Ryan Cassidy’s performances this season have earned him Original Joe’s Athlete of the Month for October. The 2012 Canada West First Team All-Star has had an impressive 2013 campaign, finishing first among individual racers in the season-opening Charles Bowles Invitational with a total time of 24:17.81. Cassidy’s time helped the Vikes earn first place overall as a team.  The Vikes then earned their second first-place finish of the season at the Bronco Invitational, where Cassidy once again led the Vikes with a third-place finish among racers, posting a time of 23:52.6.  Cassidy is no stranger to success; finishing 10th overall at last year’s CIS National Championships.  The Grand-Digue, New Brunswick native was also named Canada West Cross-country Rookie of the Year, along with a Canada West First-team all star selection in his freshman season.
