Fifth-year Vikes women's rower Renae Barks put up consistent finishes through the Vikes' two regattas in November, earning her Original Joe’s Female Athlete of the Month. Barks is one of three returning members from last year’s national championship-winning squad. The Vikes' first regatta of the month, also one of the largest events of the season, was the Canadian University Rowing Championships held in Montreal, Que. Barks rowed to a second-place finish in the lightweight fours and earned bronze in both the pairs and singles events. In her final fall competition at the National Rowing Championships, Barks put together her top performance of the fall season, rowing to a first-place finish in the under-23 category after posting a time of 8.29.86.
