FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
 
First-year forward and midfielder Lindsay Cole has been selected as September's Female Athlete of the Month. As a rookie, this Victoria native has had an impressive start to the season. Cole brought her summer experience of being a gold medalist at the U18 Canadian National Championship and being an invitee to Canada's junior national team camp to the Vikes. This September, Lindsay has scored in two of the four regular season Canada West games. In the opening weekend against the Calgary Dinos, she had a penalty corner deflection in the team's 6-0 victory. In the following weekend, she dribbled past several UBC Thunderbird players (the three-time defending national champions) and eliminated the goalie with a backhand flick into the net. This resulted in evening the scoreboard for a 1-1 tie. Cole's speed and intelligence will help the Vikes on their road to obtain the CIS Championship banner in Toronto.
