FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE MONTH - OCTOBER 2015

First-year Vike Gabrielle Senft was a staple in a young Vikes side that exceeded expectations in their run to the program’s first Canada West banner in their history and an appearance in the 2015 CIS Women’s Rugby Championships in Kingston, Ont. The Regina, Sask. Native was a leader in the scoring department for the Vikes this season, scoring four tries in four games during the regular season and a try in both wins over the Alberta Pandas and Lethbridge Pronghorns in the semifinals and finals of the Canada West playoffs, respectively. Despite losing to the Concordia Stingers in the CIS quarter-finals, Senft was awarded the CIS Rookie of the Year award for her performance this season and a Second Team All-Canadian nod.
