Alexis De Armond, Women's Field Hockey
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
Since earning a silver medal with the Vikes at the 2015 CIS Women's Field Hockey Championship this past November, De Armond's schedule hasn't slowed down. On Dec. 8, 2015, De Armond was selected to Field Hockey Canada's Junior Development Squad for the 2016 competition period. The first year was also one of seven players on the junior squad that were chosen to train full-time with the senior squad in Vancouver in January. Most recently, De Armond went on tour with the Canadian Under 21 team to Santiago, Chile throughout January, where the team won three of seven match ups. De Armond was then picked for the Pan American Junior National squad that will compete in Trinidad and Tobago, Mar. 29-Apr. 10, for a spot at the 2016 Junior World Cup. In addition, the Mount Douglas Secondary grad earned her first senior call-up to the Canadian women's national team that is set to compete in the U.S. Series in California from Feb. 8-12.
