SCOUTING THE VIKES
Last Saturday the women's team overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to edge the Lethbridge Pronghorns 75-66 and in doing so sealed their eighth consecutive trip to the post-season. Winnipeg native #Debbie Yeboah# scored 49 points during the Alberta series sweep and her 32 points on Friday night ranks second in the Canada West this season for offensive output in a single game. The second year point now leads the Canada West from behind the foul line sinking 84 percent of her free throw attempts. The (9-4) Vikes are the conference's best defensive rebounding team and head into the weekend's double header seeded seventh in the national rankings.
SCOUTING THE CASCADES
Success at the CIS level has not carried over for the former ten-time BC College champs. Since making the jump to the university ranks in 2006, the program has seen considerable change in recent years and could pose a major threat in the near future with seven rookies dressing this season. The squad currently boasts the conference's top-scorer in Jane Meadwell (19 p/g), a former teammate of Vikes guard #Vanessa Forstbauer# at Chilliwack Secondary.
HEAD TO HEAD
Since joining the league in 2006, the Cascades are 0-10 against the Vikes. In their three meetings last year, the Vikes won by an average of 22 points per game.
