Vancouver, B.C. - The University of Victoria cross country team opened the 2025 season at the Vancouver Spirit Run, Sept. 28 at Jericho Beach Park.

Eyebergen, Kuchar post first-place finishes 

• On the women's side, Vikes newcomer Madelyn Eybergen made an impressive debut, posting the best time in the women's 8k open division at 25:27 for the first-place showing.
• After missing much of the 2024 season due to illness, Jaxon Kuchar made his return to action and led the way for the Vikes men, taking first place in the men's 8k open division at 22:31.

Suchoski, Owens add top-10 finishes

• Rowen Suchoski took fourth on the men's side for the Vikes, clocking in at 23:29.
• Erin Owens finished the 8k in 27:04, good for 10th place on the women's side.

The Vikes head to Calgary, Alta. for the University of Calgary's Stewart Cup race Saturday, Oct. 4.
