Last Week Recap:

• The University of Victoria men's basketball team dominated in their 101-53 win over the University of Regina.
• Victoria controlled the first half as the Cougars were held to 26 points.
• The Vikes' depth was on full display as there were seven players with five or more points.
• Victoria held a 48-26 lead as the first half came to an end.
• The Vikes played perfectly in the third quarter, scoring 35 and holding the Cougars to 13. This was the largest scoring margin of any quarter for the Vikes this year.
• After three quarters of play, the Vikes were holding the Cougars to 11.1% from beyond the three-point line.
• The Vikes finished off the dominant win with an 18-14 fourth quarter.
•  In the second game, the Vikes fell to the University of Regina 81-76.
• The Cougars came out scorching while the Vikes had struggles, creating a wide scoring gap early in the game.
• After the first quarter, the Cougars held on to a 14-point lead.
• The second was more of the same as Regina extended their lead further. The score was 55-33 as the squads headed to their locker rooms for halftime.
• The Vikes began to find their rhythm in the third quarter. Their strong play cut the Cougars' lead to 69-55 with one quarter remaining.
• Victoria had captured all the momentum. With seven minutes left to play, Renoldo Robinson continued to be the scorer the Vikes needed. Their extended offensive run had the Vikes looking at a 10-point deficit.
• Shadynn Smid got the arena on their feet as he forced back-to-back turnovers, leading to four points on the offensive end. Smid's smart play cut the lead to six points.
• The comeback fell just short as Regina held on to their slim lead to win 81-76.

• The University of Victoria women's basketball team fell to the University of Regina 63-54.
• Offence was at a premium in the first half as both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket.
• The Cougars held a narrow margin of 33-27 as the game headed to halftime.
• The Vikes' defence held strong in the third quarter as they exploited the Cougars' woes and cut the lead to 46-43.
• Becker and Sigue dominated on the glass, creating plenty of second-chance scoring opportunities.
• The Cougars held on to their lead, outscoring the Vikes 17-11 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
• In the second game, the Vikes fell to the University of Regina in a close 70-67 game.
• Regina came out scoring a flurry of points and grabbed an early seven-point lead.
• The Vikes started to find their range, and shots began to drop. A strong second quarter led to the Cougars' lead being cut to five as the game headed to halftime, 38-33.
• The Vikes won the rebounding battle in the first half, highlighted by Mimi Sigue tallying seven boards at the break.
• With the Cougars holding a 55-49 lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Vikes began to turn on the pressure.
• Creating timely turnovers, the Vikes were able to erase the Cougars' lead.
• As the game hit the final two-minute stretch, the Vikes found themselves down eight. The defenders battled to create costly turnovers and cut the lead down to three with 17 seconds remaining.
• The Vikes found themselves with a shot to tie the game but couldn't find the bottom of the net.
