The University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball closes out the 2011 portion of conference play tonight and tomorrow night with a pair of games at Calgary and Lethbridge.

Tonight the Vikes (4-2) face off against the Calgary Dinos (4-2) - a squad looking to recover from two straight losses to the No. nationally ranked Regina Cougars last weekend (69-54 and 84-67). The Dinos are led by
Jenna Kaye who is 10th in the Canada West in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game.
The game features two of the three top offences in the Canada West with the Vikes leading the conference averaging 80 points per game, with Calgary in third averaging 75.5 points per contest. The Dinos, however, also boast the best point differential in the Canada West winning their games overall by a scoring margin of 22.7 points per game.
Calgary also has some strong balance with
Alex Cole,
Megan Lang and
Tamara Jarrett providing depth on offence.
Jessica Franz, averaging eight rebounds a game, fifth best in the conference, is a top rebounder for the Dinos along with Kaye.
Then on Saturday, the squad travels down the highway to face an improved Lethbridge Pronghorns (2-4) squad, also on a two-game losing skid after two losses against Saskatchewan last weekend (62-55 and 81-59). The Pronghorns are led by
Kim Veldman who is 27th in the conference in scoring, averaging 11 points per game along with the duo of
Lauren Taal and
Kaitlyn Olsen who are both offensive threats.
Natalie Nichols is a top rebounder on the squad.
The Vikes have won their past three games including two wins over Thompson Rivers last weekend and a win over Brandon the weekend before.

Debbie Yeboah# leads the Vikes with 14.5 points per game, ninth best in the Canada West.
