The University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball team dropped their second straight contest, falling 53-44 to the Thompson Rivers WolfPack on Saturday Feb. 5 at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops, B.C.
With the loss, the Vikes fall to 15-7 and sit in a tie for fourth place in the Canada West with Alberta.

The Vikes host the UBC Thunderbirds Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. and on Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. in the final weekend of the regular season at McKinnon Gymansium.
The game could likely determine home-court advantage in the playoffs, with the top four teams in the Canada West hosting a best-of-three conference quarter-final series.
UBC (13-7) sits in sixth place and has two games in hand on UVic.
Meanwhile, Alberta has two games remaining against the Calgary Dinos (7th place in Canada West at 10-10), while third-place Winnipeg (16-4) has two games in hand and plays winless Brandon and struggling Lethbridge to close out the season. The Vikes cannot catch first-place Saskatchewan (18-2) or second-place Regina (17-3).
On Feb. 5, Kayla Forsyth led the WolfPack with 18 points and six rebounds, while Jen Ju was solid for a second straight night net 12 points along with six boards.
Thompson Rivers held the Vikes to just four first-quarter points and just five in the third quarter.
The inconsistency on offence cost the Vikes.

Sarah Semeniuk# pulled down 15 rebounds including six on the offensive glass, and added a team-high 12 points. #
Carmen Lapthorne# also scored 12 points for the Vikes, while #Deborah Yeboah# scored 11. She had just three points in the Feb. 4 loss.
UVic shot just 23.9 per cent from the field.
Thompson Rivers improve to 9-13 and currently sits in eighth place in the Canada West, a record good enough to currently hold the final playoff spot.
