Abbotsford, B.C.– Coming off a visit from the University of the Fraser Valley at CARSA Performance Gym, Feb. 12, the University of Victoria men's and women's basketball teams will head to Abbotsford, B.C. to take on the Cascades in a weekend series, Feb. 18-19.

NEWS & NOTES
- After a 3-0 week at Thompson Rivers and versus Fraser Valley, the Victoria men's team sits at 12-1 on the season, ranking second in the Canada West west division behind the 14-2 UBC Thunderbirds.
- The UVic women hold a 9-5 record for third place in the conference west division after a 1-1 weekend, defeating Thompson Rivers and falling to Fraser Valley.
- The Vikes and Cascades matched up less than a week ago, with both the men's and women's sides taking on UFV at CARSA Performance Gym, Feb. 12. The men won, 94-57, while the women saw their seven-game win streak snapped with a 68-54 setback.
- Scott Kellum is one made three-pointer away from tying Ryan MacKinnon for the most makes in program history. Currently at 203 career three's, MacKinnon holds the program record with 204. Continuing to write his name in the record books, Kellum recently broke the program's top-10 list in career points, currently sitting seventh at 1,206.
- Ashlyn Day leads all players in Canada West with a 21.3 points per game average, and ranks fourth in the league with a 43.2% made three-point average.
- As a team, the men's squad leads all Canada West teams with a 92.1 points per game scoring average. Individually, Diego Maffia leads the Vikes with an 18.1 points per game average.
- In its 81-56 win over the WolfPack, Feb. 11, the Vikes women's side saw three players record double-doubles in the win, the most in a single game this season. Aleah Ashlee led the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Calli McMillan with 16 points and 10 boards. Mimi Sigue rounded out the trio with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
- Raising money during the annual Shoot for the Cure campaign, the Vikes raised $29,200 for the Canadian Cancer Society, a record amount for the women's basketball program. Read more about their fundraising efforts here.
