Seattle, Wash. – The University of Victoria track teams added a U SPORTS auto-qualifying performance at the University of Washington Invitational, Feb. 1, at Dempsey Indoor.

O'Brien hits U SPORTS standard

• After being just .04 seconds off the U SPORTS qualifying time two weekends ago at the Golden Bears Open, Tate O'Brien came in at 1:17.63 in the men's 600m in Seattle to earn the auto-bid to the national championships. The time also marked a personal best for O'Brien.

Damian, Thompson lead Vikes in 3000m

• Daniel Damian led the Vikes' men's side in the 3000m, finishing 27th with a time of 8:08.99.
• Marisha Thompson posted the top Vikes time in the women's 3000m, clocking in at 9:34.00 for 22nd place.

Three Vikes finish in top 50 of mile

• In fields of over 100 competitors in both the men's and women's races, Marisha Thompson (22nd – 4:46.43) and Erin Owens (48th – 4:51.19) posted top 50 finishes on the women's side, while Jack Boden led the Vikes' men's side with a 25th-place, 4:04.31 showing. 

Frielink, Thompson add personal bests

• Elissa Frielink recorded a new personal best in the 3000m, clocking in at 9:50.87.
• Marisha Thompson dropped just over one tenth of a second off her mile time to set a new personal best with a time of 4:46.43.
