Seattle, Wash. – The University of Victoria track teams saw a new school record set at the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington, Feb. 15.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Thompson sets new Vikes record in mile

• Marisha Thompson ran the women's mile in 4:42.78 to not only lead the Vikes but also set a new Vikes track record in the event. The previous best time of 4:44.44 was set by Kendra Promfret in 2015.

McDowell-Mitchell adds top-10 finish for Vikes

• Elisabeth McDowell-Mitchell's time of 57.04 in the women's 400m was good for eighth place in the event.

Boden, O'Brien lead Vikes in mile and 800m

• Jack Boden led the Vikes in the men's mile, taking 47th overall with a time of 4:05.26.
• Though he was the lone Vike to compete in the men's 800m, Tate O'Brien took 14th with a time of 1:49.25.

The Vikes head to the Canada West Championships at the University of Regina, Feb. 21-13.
