Gary Dukelow had an acclaimed career at UVic, twice receiving the Howard Gerwing Rugby award as the Vikes MVP in 1978 and 1980.  The Vikings Captain was also a three time recipient of the Campbell Forbes Award (1979, '80, '81) which recognizes the best forward on the men's rugby team.

In 1981, Dukelow was presented with the President's Cup, the award given annually to the outstanding student-athlete in their fourth or fifth year who best combines scholastic achievement and athletic ability.

As a member of the Canadian Senior Men's National Team, Dukelow debuted against Wales XV at Burnaby Lakes on May 24, 1980. His international career was highlighted by helping Canada advance to the 1991 World Cup quarterfinals. The front row standout started at loose-head for Canada and B.C. from 1980 to 1985 before pursuing an international stint with Kobe Steel in Japan. Dukelow played for Team Canada between 1980-1990. His last game for Canada was against the United States in Seattle on June 9, 1990. 

Upon retiring, Dukelow has been heavily involved with Rugby Canada, including a stint as General Manager of the Canadian Senior National team and more recently is an assistant forward coach for the Canadian Women's Fifteen's team heading to Denver, Colorado for the 2013 Nations Cup.
