Robbie Parris came to UVic in September of 1974 after a high school basketball career highlighted by a pair of BC High School Championships. An exciting player known for his great ball-handling skills, dedication and commitment to the team.  

Robbie earned Most Inspirational Player and Most Valuable Player on several occasions. He was selected Canada West Second Team All-Star from 1974-75 to 1976-77 seasons. In his last two season as a Vikings, 1977 and 1978, Parris was selected Canada West First Team All-Star. In 1974-75, 1976-77 and 1978-79 Parris helped guide the Vikings to the top of the Canada West charts. In his fifth year, Parris was named CIAU All-Star, CIAU Second Team All-Canadian and led the Vikings in free throws with 74 made shots.  
 
Robbie's hard work ethic set the standard for the future success of the Vikes basketball program. His well-rounded athletic ability has ranked him No.6 on the current Vikes basketball individual career leader board. In honour of his achievements, Robbie’s jersey (#20) was retired by the team in 2004.

- Guided the UVic Viking to three Canada West Championship Banners (1975, 1976, 1979)
- 1975,1976,1977 Canada West Second Team All-Star
- 1977, 1978 Canada West First Team All-Star
- 1978-79 CIAU All-Star and CIAU Second Team All-Canadian 

- Current is ranked No. 6 on the UVic Vikes Individual Career Leader board
- 2004: Jersey No. 20 retired
