A five-year member of the Vikettes women's field hockey program, Crook is one of, if not the first to pioneer the University of Victoria name at the international level. From 1974-79, the center forward showcased her combination of skill, work ethic and leadership to help earn UVic's first title in the Vancouver Island Premier Division in 1974, first Canada West title in 1975 and two bronze medals at the CIAU national championships in 1975 and 1976. Crook was honoured with the Robert T. Wallace Shield for UVic's Rookie of the Year in 1975 and earned the prestigious President's Cup in 1978.
A decorated varsity student-athlete, Crook went on to compete for Canada from 1974-81, competing in two world cups in 1978 and 1981 and captained the squad in the latter year. Following an incredible athletic career, Crook took her talents to the sidelines, where she coached the Calgary Dinos from 1983-88. Crook completed her Bachelors of Arts in Education and specifically Human Performance and went on to get her Masters at the Univesity of Calgary in counselling. Crook is now a counselling psychologist in Calgary, specializing in working with athletes transitioning out of sport, working closely with the Canadian Sports Center in Calgary.
